Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of these Terms is to set forth the terms and conditions for the use of the file sharing service provided by TimeFile, as well as the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the Company and users.

Article 2 (Definitions)

The following terms shall have the meanings set forth below:

• "Service" refers to all services provided by the Company, including file upload, download, and sharing.
• "User" refers to any person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
• "File" refers to any digital content uploaded by users through the Service.
• "Retention Period" refers to the file storage duration that is automatically determined in inverse proportion to file size.
• "Cloud Storage" refers to external cloud services (such as Cloudflare R2) used by the Company to store user files.

Article 3 (Posting and Amendment of Terms)

• The Company shall post these Terms on the Service screen so that users can easily access them.
• The Company may amend these Terms as necessary within the scope that does not violate applicable laws.
• When amending these Terms, the Company shall announce the effective date and reasons for amendment through the Service at least 7 days prior to the effective date. However, if the amendment is disadvantageous to users, notice shall be given at least 30 days in advance.
• Users who do not agree to the amended Terms may discontinue use of the Service. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the amended Terms shall be deemed as consent to the amendments.

Article 4 (Provision and Modification of Service)

The Company provides the following services:

• Automatic retention period calculation inversely proportional to file size
• Unlimited file size upload support
• Secure file transfer and storage
• File download through sharing links
• Any other services developed or provided through partnerships by the Company

Article 5 (User Obligations)

Users shall not engage in any of the following activities:

• Misappropriating others' information or registering false information
• Uploading content that infringes on intellectual property rights such as copyrights
• Distributing pornographic materials, illegal information, hate speech, etc.
• Uploading files containing viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Interfering with the stable operation of the Service or causing excessive load on the Service
• Damaging the reputation of the Company or third parties or interfering with their business
• Any other activities that violate applicable laws or public order and morals

Article 6 (Prohibited Content)

The following content is prohibited from being uploaded and may be deleted without prior notice:

• Content that infringes on intellectual property rights such as copyrights or trademarks
• Content that contains personal information without authorization or violates others' privacy
• Illegal content including pornography or child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
• Hate speech, discriminatory expressions, violent content
• False information, fraudulent content
• Malicious software, viruses, ransomware, or other harmful programs
• Any other content prohibited by applicable laws

Article 7 (Suspension of Service)

The Company may temporarily suspend the Service without prior notice in the following cases:

• When system maintenance, repair, replacement, or upgrade is required
• When power outage, equipment failure, or network failure occurs
• When normal service provision is difficult due to surge in service usage
• When force majeure events such as natural disasters, national emergencies, war, or terrorism occur
• When failures occur in partner services such as Cloudflare
• When there are other reasonable operational needs of the Company

The Company will make reasonable efforts to notify users in advance of any service suspension.

Article 8 (Limitation of Liability)

Article 9 (File Retention Policy)

• File retention periods are automatically calculated in inverse proportion to file size.
• Smaller files are granted longer retention periods, while larger files are subject to shorter retention periods.
• Files are automatically deleted without prior notice upon expiration of the retention period.
• The retention period is displayed on the screen when uploading files.
• The Company may change the retention period calculation method according to service operation policies, and will provide advance notice of such changes.

Article 10 (Privacy Protection)

The Company strives to protect users' personal information in accordance with applicable laws. A separate "Privacy Policy" applies to the protection and use of personal information. The Privacy Policy can be found on the Service screen.

Article 11 (Advertisements)

The Company may display advertisements on the Service screen for service operation purposes. Users are deemed to have consented to advertisements displayed during use of the Service. The Company shall not be liable for any damages to users arising from advertisements.

Article 12 (Copyright and Intellectual Property Rights)

• Copyrights and intellectual property rights to the Service belong to the Company.
• Copyrights to content uploaded by users belong to those users or the original copyright holders.
• Users shall not reproduce, transmit, publish, distribute, broadcast, or otherwise use information obtained through the Service for commercial purposes, or allow third parties to use it, without the Company's prior consent.

Article 13 (Dispute Resolution)

• The Company will endeavor to reflect legitimate opinions or complaints raised by users and to process compensation for damages.
• Any lawsuit regarding disputes between the Company and users shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Company's principal place of business.

Article 14 (Governing Law)

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Matters not stipulated in these Terms shall be governed by applicable laws and commercial customs.
